Human resource development is not complete without training and development. Both training and development refer to opportunities made to support workers' growth. Recognizing the training's objectives and determining the desired business impact are the first steps in developing an effective and successful training program. The analysis of personnel skill gaps and strengths is the next step. Additionally, it is critical to communicate with staff members to comprehend their needs and sources of motivation. Planning for assessing goal efficacy and long-term sustainability is the final step (Miftah, 2021).


 Relation and Difference between Training and Development

There is a relation between training and development, and there is clear difference between the two based on goals to be achieved. Development is made to answer the training problems:

It is pro- active process

AIM: To develop additional skills

It is continuous process

Things are evolving quite quickly in the modern knowledge-based economy. The organization needs to work hard and move quickly just to hold onto its position. The only way a company can attain a strategic advantage is through the development of its core competencies, which can only be done by its workers. Therefore, organizations must spend money updating the skills of their staff members in order to achieve a level of excellence. This is achieved through the process of training and development (Satyendra, 2014).

Importance of training and development in the workplace

The terms "employee training and development" and "employee learning practices" are frequently used synonymously across industries. Training and development programs are crucial because they give staff members the opportunity to acquire specific information or skills that will boost performance. Programs for employee growth that focus on future performance rather than current career role advancement are known as training and development. With 27% of companies anticipating budget increases within their development programs, learning and development are now more important than ever. Both emerging markets and new technology will have a significant influence on development and education. A corporation may develop and innovate for the future by taking into account new talents and learning methods. Teams will learn dynamically through a future-focused strategy by combining modern technical platforms with innovative learning techniques (People Hum, 2023).

Conclusion

In human resource management (HRM), a system of employee education is referred to as training and development. It contains a variety of resources, guidelines, and exercises aimed at enhancing employee performance. Employees have the chance to broaden their knowledge and improve their abilities.
